OSHO
NEVER BORN NEVER DIED,
ONLY VISITED THIS PLANET EARTH
BETWEEN
11 DECEMBER 1931 AND 19 JANUARY 1990

I would like more and more writers, poets, film makers to steal as much as they can, because truth is not my property, I am not its owner. let it reach in any way, in anybody's name, in any form, but let it reach. Beyond Psychology#3 Q#2 : Osho

If you really want to know who I am, you have to be as absolutely empty as I am. Then two mirrors will be facing each other, and only emptiness will be mirrored: two mirrors facing each other. But if you have some idea, then you will see your own idea in me."

"Only that which cannot be taken away by death is real. Everything else is unreal, it is made of the same stuff dreams are made of." ~OSHO♥

Existence - Non Existence are entangled...

Question: Master i find myself in a very strange situation since few days...
no logic is working.. no reasoning...

...I've been asking strange question to myself..
questions like..
why was i born in the first place...
if there is a god or whatever..
why wasn't i ask in the first place..
what kind of God is that..
that who forced birth to me..

and then I realize unless I totally negate all this crap..
that there's a god and all that.. i might just go nuts..."

questions like.. why meditate.. why get enlightened...
i mean words are simply loosing its sense to me...
and sometime back i asked myself..what about this man (that's u) .. u love him?

and i replied..  I don't know whether it's love or whatever that's called..
but i feel good to be in a communion with him...
and i give a fuck to any god whereever he s/he may be..
if there has to be any god.. then u r my god.. in the sense.. u cared for me..
so far u have tried to show me the way.. although i don't know where that road leads or takes me to... it's another thing perhaps i am unable to comprehend ur message in totality..

I've never had so much of suicidal thoughts as recently.. but then something tells me.. what's the point even if u die...

Everything is seeming to be senseless to me.. but having no other choice.. i am just trying to live this life.. in the best way i can.. even when i think of suicide... i happen to think of my mom.. that i am the only son.. and if i go.. i know how much they are gonna suffer unnecessarily..

I am sorry for sharing all these zig-zag thoughts master...I just felt to write.. so i jotted them ....

Answer: Beloved Musalam please be a bit more patient with me, because I didn't responded immediately to your thoughts... But most importantly, have more patience and compassion for yourself...
Learn to give more time to your thoughts, so they can mature... I, not having the oppoturnity to share my thoughts with Osho, I used to write them down, so I was relieved from their load or, when they were to much to just be written flat, they were becoming poetry...

Do you remember?  On the 12th Feb 2012 you wrote...

"master since last month a certain silence is pulling me in...."

...and I said: "accept and surrender to it... You're blessed..."

So, at the 16th you come like, "master i find myself in a very strange situation since few days...no logic is working.. no reasoning..."

See?! The mind couldn't afford the silence and became anxious and started philosophising!

..."i've been asking strange question to myself..questions like.. why was i born in the first place... if there is a god or whatever.. why wasn't i ask in the first place.. what kind of God is that.. that who forced birth to me.."
and then I realize unless I totally negate all this crap.. that there's a god and all that.. i might just go nuts..."

Yes, one can get nuts, because all those questions are beyond the reach of the mind... And the trick is that in all those questions TIME is involved, that;s the fucking trick! You see mind creates an virtual enviroment consisting of the concept of time and then tries to fit everything in it! Time is usfull for trivia but not for existential matters...

The mind is trapped by its own cleverness...

In trivia, for our convinience, we can say that something happens and we can see the reason, we can determine the series of events, because they occur in a straight line...

For example, you drink a whole bottle of whisky and then you become utterly drunk...You knew that before hand, but you wished it to happen for some psychological reasons that were hidden in your unconscious... Next day, you have headache and a bad mood and you take a vow that you will stop drinking, but in the evening, forgetting your vow, you take the booz again...

There is cause and effect when one is unconscious... That's how it is called, "The Law of Cause & Effect"... This is the deterministic theory that ruled human history for milennia...

Modern science of the 20th century discovered, that things are more subtle and strange than they appear... Quantum physicists like Heisenberg and Schrödinger undermined the otherwise convenient mindset of the classic era...

In the famous experiment of the "Schrödinger's Cat", ...a cat, along with a flask containing a poison, is placed in a sealed box shielded against environmentally induced quantum decoherence. If an internal Geiger counter detects radiation, the flask is shattered, releasing the poison that kills the cat. The Copenhagen interpretation of quantum mechanics implies that after a while, the cat is simultaneously alive and dead. Yet, when we look in the box, we see the cat either alive or dead, not a mixture of alive and dead."

After the cat interating with the quantum system, it should get entangled with it and end up in a state of both dead and alive at the same time, which obviously we never see.

Entanglement is a term used in quantum theory to describe the way that particles of energy/matter can become correlated to predictably interact with each other regardless of how far apart they are. They remain in a quantum superposition and share a single quantum state...

Physicists today have discovered that what we call "matter" is a "wave-particle" which appears and disappears 20 billion times in a second!

Existence - Non Existence flashes Existence - Non Existence flashes in 20bn times per sec - as they suppose - forgetting that they themselves are interfering with their observation... In Ultimate Reality Existence - Non Existence are entangled... Duality has "meaning" only in our limited perception... - as they suppose, forgetting that they themselves are interfering with their observation...

In Ultimate Reality Existence - Non Existence are entangled... Duality has "meaning" only in our limited perception...

But hidden underneath Schrödinger's mind the idea was not of existence or non-existence, but of Life or Death! That's why he composed the experiment in a rather gruesome manner...

Death is the riddle hidden in his unconscious... For Schrödinger and everybdy else, Existence, not consciously lived, leaves the question unanswered, "To be or not to be", in other words Am I alive or dead? Existence not fully lived feels empty, dead, and non-existence is confused as death...

Ordinarily life is but a journey from the cradle to the grave...We live a two dimencional life, from the Past to the Future, missing always the essence of Life which is in the Present...Philosophers are wandering... "Whence we come? What are we? Whither go we?"...

The first and the last questions are a riddle unsolved...They indicate an absence of being...The real existencial question is the main one, ...What am I?

Absence is equal to death...Death is a mystery... Ordinary people feel fear encountering the unknown...Life after life we strive for ephemeral satisfactions...

Buddhas initiates had to stay for three months in the burning ghats, to the funeral pyres to meditate there, the place were hindus burn the dead...Day in, day out they had to face death... For three months they had to live with death, that was their preparatory period of meditation... Every day they had to see people whom they knew, brought there dead and burned down to ashes... They had to think continuously about the meaning of life when death is so certain... Yesterday they saw the man full of vigor and now he is just a dead corpse, lying down on the fire place and then... nothing but ashes taken by the river and the wind...

Once a soul comes to a point of recognising its eternal recycling life after life, asks the crucial question, ...What am I?

Death is just a concept invented by people living in Samsara, the world of phenomena...

The world of phenomena, the Samsara, is a partial reality and a partial reality means that something of absolute importance is missing... It's like the warp & weft of a fabric...

The symbol of the Christian Cross indicates the whole of reality... The horizontal line is the weft of the fabric, the dimencion in which we live in, ...Time, the line which consists of the Past & the Future... We are trapped in that dimencion, living a linear life and we are missing the vertical dimencion, which crosses the linear continuously on the Present...

That's why Heraclitus said "You cannot step twice into the same stream", because the Time flows like a stream and the Present is so infinitely minute, that you can only once can cross it, entering into the vertical dimencion, the Eternal...

In our Samsaric sense of reality the warp is absent and we substitute the missing warp with the concept of death...

Death is just our ignorance... Death is our continuous missing, we miss the Whole and we name it God! ...Another concept out of ignorance! And we use to say that "He was taken by God" or "He is going to the Other World, to the Heavens"...

There is no god, there is no other world, there is no paradise other than the totality of being Now-here...

The fabric of Paradise or Moksa or whatever you like to call it, consists of two dimencions and it has to be lived HERE in This life, because Here is the warp AND the weft of it! Here is the oppoturnity to solve the riddle of Life & Death... Life & Death are interwoven! We come to life with an inhalation and we part with an exhalation... With each inhalation we live and with each exhalation we die... Going to sleep we die and waking up in the morning, we rebirth, our cells die every moment and new are born...

Absence and the concept of death are the same - only that on the side of the diceased there is no suffering, only on this side of "reality" it exists!

Recognising this very Earth as the Lotus Paradise is our task and the key is meditation... This is the Whole Reality that we came to live... This is our responsibility, our challenge, our oppoturnity...

Musalam... You've never being born in the first place... Second, God is no other than you, so there is no meaning of asking yourself or even forcing anything anyhow... So certainly, if you don't stop torturing yourself with such questions, you might go nuts...

And questions like.. why meditate.. why get enlightened... are certainly non-sense, as they are just words, concepts...
Meditation is the essence of being Present and being Present is the essence of enlightenment...

And then you say: "Sometimes back i asked myself.. what about this man (that's u) .. u love him?and i replied.. i don't know whether it's love or whatever that's called..but i feel good to be in a communion with him... and i give a fuck to any god whereever he s/he may be.. if there has to be any god.. then u r my god..in the sense.. u cared for me.. so far u have tried to show me the way.. although i don't know where that road leads or takes me to... it's another thing perhaps i am unable to comprehend ur message in totality.."

Musalam, we are entangled!

An old buddha, said, 'Gourd vines entangle with gourd vines.'

'Gourd vines entangle with gourd vines' means that buddha ancestors master buddha ancestors; buddha ancestors merge with buddha ancestors in realization. This is transmitting mind by mind...

It is called the transmission of the light, the opening of the mystic rose...

Your heart is the soil. Your trust is the climate. And your being is the mystic rose – its opening, blossoming, releasing its fragrance...

When you know yourself, you know intimate action... 'Intimate' means close and inseparable. There is no gap. Intimacy embraces buddha ancestors. It embraces you. It embraces the self. It embraces action. It embraces generations. It embraces merit. It embraces intimacy...

Intimacy arises from a genuine encounter between individuals, and is thus highly personal, and at the same time, is flexible and open enough to accommodate others who may be brought in to the relationship. There is nothing fixed or determined about intimacy, rather it is an opening up of the self to others and vice versa... What passed between Shakyamuni Buddha and Mahakashyap was not esoteric, but intimate...

So what does all this have to do with ethics? Well, it means quite simply that like the transmission of the dharma, the key lies not in uncovering some secret code to conduct that will be applicable in all situations, but rather comes out of intimacy. That is, through a deep self knowledge and an intimate knowledge of the other. In fact, this intimacy should be so intense that self and other should be entangled like twining vines...

Tangling does more than just bring two persons closer together, tangling is such that once entangled, each person becomes something of what the other is. In his view, the encounter between persons does not leave any one unchanged, because intimacy or entangling cannot but be transformative. The phrase “Gourd vines entangle with gourd vines”, suggests that in entangling, like tangles with like, because in entangling, there is a mutual and reciprocal exchange of “skin, flesh, bones, and marrow”...

The phrase “skin, flesh, bones, and marrow” comes from the story of Bodhidharma's transmission of the Dharma to his successor Huike, in which the understanding of each of Bodhidharma's four students is successively characterized as attaining Bodhidharma in his skin, flesh, bones and marrow...

“These are the ancestor's words. All four students had attainment and understanding. Each one's attainment and understanding is skin, flesh, bones, and marrow leaping out of body and mind: skin, flesh, bones, and marrow dropping away body and mind”...

...And you add: "I've never had so much of suicidal thoughts as recently.. but then something tells me.. what's the point even if u die...everything is seeming to be senseless to me.. but having no other choice.. i am just trying to live this life.. in the best way i can.. even when i think of suicide... i happen to think of my mom.. that i am the only son.. and if i go.. i know how much they are gonna suffer unnecessarily..

i am sorry for sharing all these zig-zag thoughts master...i just felt to write.. so i jotted them ...."

A true encounter between persons involves this fleshly entanglement where one’s very flesh and bones, one’s incarnate self tangles inseparably with the other. Ethical action, therefore, does not happen from a distance but can only take place from within this lived, fleshly intimacy. This means that ethical action comes from sharing in a deep way, the thoughts, passions and experiences of those towards whom we act, and includes a call to all of us to understand before we judge; to entangle ourselves and get stuck in, like tangling vines, rather than pulling away and distancing ourselves. That may mean opening oneself up to pain, suffering and loss...

This is the real suicide beloved, a true encounter must risk nothing less than our whole selves...
