HOMOSEXUALITY IS NOT SUCH A BIG PROBLEM; it is not a problem at all, in fact -- it is part of human freedom. There is nothing wrong if two persons choose a certain style of sexual relationship; IT SHOULD BE NOBODY'S BUSINESS. But the priests and the politicians are poking their noses in everything! They create guilt in you -- absolutely unnecessary!
IF TWO MEN ARE IN LOVE, WHAT IS WRONG IN IT? What harm they are doing to anybody? In fact, they look happier than the heterosexuals; that's why they are called "gay".... Homosexuals become more feminine and they start having a certain beauty, a certain niceness about them, a certain roundness, a grace.... WHY MAKE MUCH OUT OF A SIMPLE THING? If you are enjoying a relationship with a man, enjoy it!
THE CHRISTIAN GOD HIMSELF SEEMS TO BE HOMOSEXUAL -- the whole trinity consists of three men. How they are managing, nobody knows -- not a single woman! Only the Holy Ghost is a little suspect -- maybe Holy Ghost is bisexual? Ghosts can do any kind of things! Otherwise the Father and the Son and the Holy Ghost -- what kind of trinity is this? It is very homosexual! They have not allowed a single woman in it, just to keep out of trouble. One woman would have destroyed the whole trinity, it would have become a real triangle!
SO HOMOSEXUALITY IS NOT A PROBLEM. We should start looking at real problems, and should not be concerned about unreal problems. There are real problems to be solved. And this is a trick of human mind: to create unreal problems so that you become occupied with them while real problems go on growing. And this is an old strategy: politicians, priests, so-called religious leaders go on giving you pseudo-problems to solve, so that you become occupied with the pseudo.
THE PROBLEM IN ITSELF IS MEANINGLESS, the problem is not a problem at all; but how much fuss has gone on down the ages about homosexuality! There are countries where still people are killed for homosexual acts, murdered, sentenced to jail for their whole lives. Strange world! This is a 21st Century world? Homosexuality is not a problem at all; there are thousands of real problems to be solved -- but man has to be kept engaged into toys.
My effort is to withdraw all your attention from toys, so that you can focus on the real problems of life; and if you focus on the real problems of life, they can be solved. Now, I don't see how homosexuality becomes a problem. How does it become a problem? WHY IT SHOULD BE OF CONCERN TO ANYBODY? A love affair is two individuals' private concern; it is their intimacy, it is not a social phenomenon.
And in fact, IT WILL HELP THE WORLD POPULATION IF MORE PEOPLE TURN HOMOSEXUAL. It will be good, very good for the world: less people will be born. The earth will be less burdened, there will be less poverty. Of course, less orphans and less Mother Teresas! There will be less need for contraceptives, birth control methods, sterilization; and of course the whole business of the Polack Pope will go out of his hands. That is his whole business! For one year continuously, he has been talking against contraceptives, against birth control, sterilization, abortion. Homosexuality can simply solve all these problems!
So I don't see there is much problem in it.... DON'T MAKE UNNECESSARY PROBLEMS FOR YOURSELF, so that your whole energy can become focused on the essential problem. And the essential problem is only one: KNOW THYSELF!
OSHO

Ch #3: No peaks, no valleys

You give the impression with this post that Osho approved of homosexuality. I've been an Osho sannyasin for 30 years, and I have read everything (in books and in my searchable database) he has said about homosexuality. Contrary to the impression you give with this post, Osho repeatedly refers to homosexuality as immature and as an unnatural perversion. He does not directly condemn it, because to condemn it is to make it more attractive in the form of forbidden fruit. But if you look at the whole picture, he has made it clear that he does not condone it
ReplyDeleteBut you have obviously found an Osho quote that supports what you want to believe, and so you ignore everything else that he says on the subject. I think you should reread the first quote on your page here:
"If you really want to know who I am, you have to be as absolutely empty as I am. Then two mirrors will be facing each other, and only emptiness will be mirrored: two mirrors facing each other. But if you have some idea, then you will see your own idea in me."
Beloved friend,
ReplyDeleteyour comment tells me that you're adamantly against homosexuality....
well, you may have read various discourses of Osho where by he has contradicted this particular discourse... but that's the way our Beloved Osho is.. Everything of his is oxymoronic... and I am aware as to why he has done this.. so that all those philosophers and theologians.. could never deduce any theories from him... and anybody who tries that.. to put it in his own words.. will go nuts...
well, first of all i don't want to believe in homosexuality.. like you have written.. for me the thing is about freedom.. now if two people want to act in a certain way.. what can we do... should we drag them to spirituality at the point of a gun... and where is it written that two homosexuals can never embark upon the journey of spirituality...
and haven't you observed.. homosexuality isn't just by birth.. or else why do most of the homosexuals are from the army camps, the non-coed boarding schools.. the convents.. the nunneries... isn't it the outcome of our repressed society...
you're talking of homosexuals.. now what can you do.. i've a friend in british army who served in afghanistan.. and can you guess as to what he said.. he saw a man sodomising with a donkey.. now what do you think makes that man do such weird act in afghanistan???
Quoting OSHO: "SO HOMOSEXUALITY IS NOT A PROBLEM. We should start looking at real problems, and should not be concerned about unreal problems. There are real problems to be solved. And this is a trick of human mind: to create unreal problems so that you become occupied with them while real problems go on growing. Homosexuality is not a problem at all; there are thousands of real problems to be solved -- but man has to be kept engaged into toys."
Hence let us focus on the problem the cause thats causing the problem.. and not the effect.. once we take care of the cause.. the effect will be automatically be taken care off..
and like Osho says, no matter what, the only solution is meditation.. let us meditate first.. homos.. hetros.. all of them.. and then what do you think will happen.. :)
Yes, I may not be a 3 decade old sannyasin as you when it comes to Osho.. for my age itself isn't that much... but what has age got to do with spiritual experiences..
& please remember I am not a homo.. I've made love to my woman.. not once. a lot of times.. and she has rejoiced during the whole act...
God bless....
I am not adamantly for or against anything. I was just putting my two cents in to perhaps give a more balanced picture of what Osho has said altogether about homosexuality. I feel your post here does give the impression that Osho condones homosexuality. It is my impression that he most certainly does not. Of course we can always pick and choose what Osho has said on any particular subject to support what we want to support. I'm not saying that you did any such thing intentionally; and of course I realize that it would not be feasible to present both sides of osho's arguments on anything. That would be overwhelming.
ReplyDeleteAgreed, homosexuality is not that important. I just wanted to add a little balance, that's all; and perhaps give a fuller picture of our master's views on the subject.
Namaste
Beloved Jhanajian,

CoolDeep ♥
Nepal, huh, home of high mountains and birthplace of Gautama Buddha.
ReplyDeleteYou are obviously a great lover of Osho. Are you a sannyasin? Probably not, people are not doing that so much any more. How did you come across Osho? I love to hear 'meeting with the master' stories.
Beloved Jhanajian..
ReplyDeleteyes from Nepal.. but right now I am residing in Bangalore for my education and work.
Yes I am a sannyasin and I got initiated almost 6 years back when I was 19 years of age.
Osho... well such a long story .. but I am sure it's beautiful like any other sannyasin has to share his|her story of 'meeting with the master.' But I will tell you this much... 'The Master appears when the disciple is ready.' Perhaps something like that happended to me. Prior to that I was lost and wandering entangled in the chains of the orthodox Hindu customs...
much love...
~♥~
I think the death of Osho is one of the best things that has ever happened.such grotesque rapist evil should never exist, or could exist without his head.
ReplyDeleteI hope that Osho rots in his hell, though personally I would have been thrilled to have been his dad body myself n stomp n spit on it.
:) dont Worry about Osho ;) he is doing Just so Fine ! Better Than you and hâtérs like you
